GGG Vertical Drama Film Competition · Spring 2026
One script. Your vision. The world is watching. Free to Enter
An international filmmaking competition inviting emerging and established storytellers to interpret the same script — and make it entirely their own. Shot vertically. Judged by industry professionals. Premiered on the big screen.
Vertical Film Competition
Shoot vertical.
Think beyond.
About the Competition
The Horizons Challenge is presented by the Give Get Go Group (GGG) — bringing together Tony Klinger Online Coaching (TKOC) for participants aged 18 and over, and Give Get Go Education CIC (GGGE) for filmmakers under 18. Both strands run within the same competition, with the same script, the same rules, and the same cinema premiere.
Every entrant receives the official Horizons script — written by Tony Klinger specifically for this challenge. What you do with it is entirely up to you. The setting, the tone, the visual language, the cast, the world of the film. The constraint is the starting point, not the limit.
Films must be shot in the vertical 9:16 format — the language of modern mobile storytelling — and run between one and three minutes. All production methods are welcome: live action, animation, CGI, AI-assisted production, or any hybrid. The only requirement is that all dialogue and narration is in English.
Entries will be judged by a panel of industry professionals, assessing each film on its storytelling, creative interpretation, technical execution, use of the vertical format, and emotional impact. The top ten films will be selected for a cinema premiere — screened on the big screen, introduced by the filmmakers, and followed by a Q&A with Tony Klinger, press will be invited.

How Films Are Judged
All entries are assessed by an independent panel of industry professionals against the following criteria. No single factor outweighs another — every film is considered in the round.
Does the film tell a clear, compelling story? Does it connect emotionally with its audience?
How distinctively and originally has the filmmaker interpreted the Horizons script?
The quality of production — image, sound, editing, and overall craft of the finished film.
How effectively does the film exploit the 9:16 frame? Does the format serve the story?
Does the film leave its audience feeling something? Does it stay with you after it ends?
The Cinema Premiere
The top ten films selected by the industry jury will be given a full cinema private premiere — with the films shown on a full cinema screen to an audience of industry guests, invited press, and invited attendees.
Following the screening, Tony Klinger will host a Q&A with the filmmakers, giving the top ten finalists the opportunity to speak about their work, their process, and their interpretation of the Horizons script.
All top ten finalists will receive coverage across GGG channels and press partners in connection with the event.
The cinema premiere is a UK event. Attendance by finalists is warmly encouraged but is not a condition of entry or of receiving your prize.
GGG does not cover travel, accommodation, or any other costs associated with either making the films or attending the premiere. Finalists are responsible for all their own costs, travel and transport arrangements should they wish to attend in person.
Further details on the premiere venue, date, and attendance arrangements will be communicated directly to all top ten finalists following the judging process.
The competition is open internationally. We recognise that travel to the UK may not be possible for all finalists and we are exploring options for remote participation in the Q&A for those unable to attend in person. This is not a guarantee.
Rules & Regulations
Travel and attendance: GGG does not cover travel, accommodation, or transport costs for the cinema premiere or any other competition event. Neither does it cover any costs involved in the making of the films. Attendance at the premiere is warmly encouraged but is entirely voluntary and at the entrant's own expense. The competition is open internationally and GGG acknowledges that travel to the UK may not be possible for all finalists. This will not affect a finalist's eligibility for their prize.
