We’ve all felt it.
That pressure to get it right. To be successful. To figure it all out. And fast.
Whether it’s landing your dream job, making money, impressing your family, or just trying to keep up with everyone on LinkedIn, it can feel like a lot.
At Give-Get-Go Education, we work with numerous young professionals who are trying to build something real. So, if you’re feeling the pressure to succeed, you’re not alone. And it doesn’t have to break you.
So… where does all this pressure come from?
It could be:
a. Comparing yourself to friends who seem to have it together
b. Feeling like you’re running out of time
c. Wanting to prove something (to others or yourself)
d. That quiet voice in your head whispering “you’re not doing enough”
Whatever the reason, it’s heavy. And that’s okay. But let’s not let it stop us.
Here’s how to take the pressure down a notch:
1. Decide what success means to you
Not your parents. Not social media. Not even your boss. You get to decide. Maybe it’s about feeling proud of what you do. Maybe it’s freedom, or balance, or just being able to sleep well at night. Start there.
2. Stop comparing (as much as you can)
Someone else’s timeline isn’t yours. We all move differently. You’re not behind—you’re just on your path.
3. Talk about it
Seriously. Say it out loud. “I feel like I’m not doing enough.” Chances are, the person next to you has felt the same. You don’t have to carry it alone.
4. Use your creativity
Draw. Write. Dance. Build. Speak. Whatever your thing is, do it. It helps. Pressure shrinks you. Creativity opens you back up.
5. Take small steps
No one has it all figured out. Not really. Try stuff. Make mistakes. Learn. Tiny steps still move you forward.
6. Rest is allowed
You don’t need to earn rest. You’re human. Take breaks. Log off. Breathe. You don’t need to be busy 24/7 to matter.
Final thoughts:
There’s no one-size-fits-all when it comes to success. No perfect timeline or magic moment where everything suddenly makes sense. Life is messy and unpredictable, and that’s okay. The most important thing is to keep showing up for yourself. Take small steps, ask questions, stay curious, and rest when needed.
At Give-Get-Go Education, we’re here to remind you that you’re allowed to go at your own pace, explore your creativity, and define success in your own way. You’re doing better than you think—and you’ve got this.
